About

Greetings, and welcome to my blog, Surviving In Oz.  I lifted the name from a message I often preach in my travels as an evangelist.  In it, I use the beloved 1939 classic tale of Dorothy’s adventures and travails in the magical land of Oz as a parable of the challenges modern followers of Christ face in a world that seems more unrecognizable with each passing day.  With unbiblical worldviews increasingly prevalent and more aggressively encroaching upon every aspect of our lives, public and private, the challenge for every believer is to survive the journey with faith intact and make it home.

This blog will be dedicated to thoughts and discussion around the broad and yet vitally important topic of worldview.  While I do not claim to have all the answers, I certainly claim to know the One who does have all the answers, the God of heaven and earth, who knows everything and has always been there.  God has revealed truth to humanity in His book, the Holy Bible, and has demonstrated the reliability and authenticity of that book by stepping into human history Himself in the person of Jesus Christ.  This is my worldview, and like the worldview of anyone and everyone who may read this blog, it by definition directly influences everything I say and do.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, our worldview determines our approach to the matter of truth.  What is it?  Does it exist?  Can it be known?  Is it constant, or does it change?  These and other important questions will hopefully find their way into the articles you find here, as I attempt to address both with courage and compassion the most important, the most heated, and often, the most divisive issues of our day.
